Frequently Asked Questions about Preformed
Carpet Kits
|
Can you price a kit for me so I don't have to look it up myself?
Sure! Just send us an email stating year, make, model, 2 door, 4 door, auto/stand trans., etc. Also include state and zip code for shipping costs. Please specify if you want Matching Floor Mats for your vehicle (2 of 4 set)
Most molded carpet kits are not trimmed on the sides. They are left a little wide to go under your door sills. The carpet can be cut with carpet knife or heavy shears. Do not trim until fit is achieved!
Do these carpet kits come with the insulation pre-installed?
Yes, all carpet kits come complete with automotive grade "jute" padding pre-installed. There is also a color matched plastic Heel Pad SEWN not glued under drivers foot. If extra heat resistance is need, please see "The Insulator" high heat resistant insulation.
How do I know which carpet fits my vehicle?
Please go to our Preformed Automotive Carpet Selection Page and select your type vehicle: Domestic, Foreign, Truck, Van, SUV, etc. Then find your vehicle on the appropriate page. If your car is not listed, it is not available at this time. We constantly update availability.
How long after I place my order should I expect my carpet kit to arrive?
Orders are processed immediately and are sent to the manufacturer on the next business day, unless express shipping is requested. Usual manufacturing time for a molded carpet kit is 2 days. Carpets ship UPS Ground or Fedex Ground Service. Usual delivery time is usually 7 working days. Matching Floor Mats usually take the same amount of time. Also, when we have a UPS tracking number for you, we can email it to you if you wish to leave your email.
Where do I go to see colors offered?
A good place to start is the "Carpet Type" page. From there you can see the difference in the various style of carpet offered. From here, you can select any of the following:

How do I make sure the color I order will match my vehicle?

Does the new carpet kit come with pre-punched holes?
No holes are pre-cut in any off the molded carpet kits. For best results, install the carpet into final position before cutting any holes for seat installation or seat belt installation, etc. Also, no adhesive is necessary to install a carpet kit. Thank You.
What if the carpet kit I ordered doesn't fit my vehicle?
Contact us immediately at autostyles@autostyles.com or 1-888-407-9456. We will do everything possible to exchange the carpet for the correct kit. In the event of an incorrect shipment, we will issue a UPS "Call Tag". A "Call Tag" is a UPS form that issues an order for UPS to retrieve the package from the original destination. We reserve the right to inspect any and all carpets returned for credit before a refund is issued.
Do the carpet kits come with door panel carpet pieces and hardware?
The carpet kits cover the entire passenger section flooring area of the vehicle, unless otherwise specified. Additional carpet can be purchased by the linear yard at the price specified for each style carpet. Some older model foreign cars came with "snap" hardware and other style metal floor fasteners. These kits do not come with any metal fasteners at all.
What's the difference between "Cutpile" and "Loop" carpet?
| Cutpile carpet is made to closely resemble the O.E.M. carpet used from 1972 to Present Day cars and trucks. This style carpet is easy to vacuum and maintain. These carpet kits come complete with Insulation/Jute Padding Pre-Installed to the back side of the kits. There is also a plastic heel pad sewn in under the driver's foot for longer wear. Seat holes and seatbelt holes are not pre-cut! Kits come as 1-piece units for cars and trucks, or 2-3 piece units for sport utility vehicles and Vans. Matching Floor Mats are also available for many applications. If ordered together, these floor mats are made from the same roll of carpet as the carpet kit, guaranteeing color match. |
Loop carpet is made to closely
resemble the original auto and truck carpet from the Fifties to the Seventies.
The "loop" means that the carpet yarns attach at both ends making a "loop".
These
carpet kits come complete with Insulation/Jute Padding Pre-Installed to the
back side of the kits. There is also a plastic heel pad sewn in under the
driver's foot for longer wear.
